I've recently started a new job and I'm getting a lot of pain in my right leg and also a couple of friends have had some ill health recently and it has made me want to get a general health check up. However, despite using the online services, which are apparently unavailable at 1pm in the afternoon I've been unable to book an appointment or try and find out if I can even do this. I'm quite disappointed to be quite honest. I have no issues with the doctors themselves, they've always been great! However getting a chance to actually see one of them is ridiculous!

Suggested improvements
New reception staff who don't act like you're a great inconvenience to them? Reception staff who don't gatekeep the doctor's to a point where it seems like they don't want you to see a doctor because they want you to stay sick or because they want your mental health to dwindle to such a point that bad things happen.

It seems that they really don't care about the patients or care about negative reviews. Badly run practice and bad attitudes all round. Threatened me with expulsion if I complained about them again. I refuse to be intimidated and I responded in kind as I'm quite happy to report them to the governing authorities. Had a hell of a job trying to get a prescription from them to keep me out of hospital, which was inevitable if they carried on refusing to help me. Eventually they relented thank God! But why do I have to go through all the pettiness and humiliation first? This isn't the first time either. The management seriously need to up their game. Way more bad reviews than good ones says it all!

Suggested improvements
Number one, you must train your staff to listen fully and not be so rude and unhelpful. Manners cost nothing. Everybody knows covid has put massive strains on everyone, but the problems they have are plain bad management. If they were a business that relies on paying customers, their customer base would dry up very quickly with their attitude.

I rang Marston surgery on Friday 18th September to try to get a repeat prescription for anti biotics as I suffer from recurrent infections. Last November the doctor gave me some and said keep them incase you get a flare up and ring for more if you need them. Well, I asked today and was met with a rude unhelpful and unprofessional receptionist who laughed a me over the phone. When I asked for her name she refused to give it. So I asked to speak to her practice manager and she put the phone down on me. It's absolutely disgracefull. All I know is that she sounded Polish or East European. I will not let this rest as I have never had such a rude person dealing with me when I'm ill.

Suggested improvements
Listen to the patients words and not keep talking over them. Don't laugh at an ill person. Get re trained or find another job in a different role

It’s impossible to get an appointment. It’s barbaric expecting sick people to queue up outside in the cold and rain. Only not to be seen as only the first 16 get in. Wouldn’t mind if you could ring to make an appointment. But either the phone is engaged or the appointments all gone. It’s a joke! Especially when you are told you can’t have your medication unless you see the doctor. Feel like I’m living in a third word country. The service at this practice is unacceptable.

Every time soneone in my family get sick come to my mind that have to come to surgery at 7 am to get early appointment to see the doctor. I can't believe I'm in the UK sometimes. For today I'm standing outside in this cold weather as usual please do something to stop this struggle.
